Comfortably upper-middle class Tilda Swinton goes to extremes to conceal her gay son's involvement in
the death of his lover.
All Over the Guy (8-3-01) Dir. Julie Davis -- Lions Gate
Tom and Eli have little in common, but that doesn't stop their mutual friends from setting
the two up on a blind date. Is a shared love of movies enough to keep them together? Indie
sweethearts Christina Ricci and Lisa Kudrow make cameos in this romantic comedy, produced by
"The Opposite of Sex" helmer Don Roos.
Rock Star (9-14-01) Dir. Stephen Herek -- Warner Bros.
Taking its cue from a page in Judas Priest's history book, Mark Wahlberg is a megafan of a rock group
who's called in to replace their lead singer. Oh, and Jennifer Aniston supposedly has a make-out scene with
a lesbian MTF transsexual.

Punks (Fall 2001) Dir. Patrik-Ian Polk -- Urbanworld Films
A heretofore unseen (cinematically) romantic comedy about a group of
African-American gay male friends -- and one possibly straight one -- set in West
Hollywood. Rockmond Dunbar is the perfectly buff (see torso) object of Seth Gilliam's desire.
Trembling Before G_d (Fall 2001) Dir. Sandi DuBowski -- New Yorker Films
Documentary look at Jewish Orthodox gays and lesbians.
This one made a big splash at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival.
Unconditional Love (Fall 2001) Dir. P.J. Hogan -- New Line Cinema
Rupert Everett in a gay role, as the lover of a newly-deceased British pop star
who teams up with Kathy Bates to solve the singer's murder. Hogan brought us the
brilliant "Muriel's Wedding."

Documentary about Alfredo Ormando, a gay Sicilian writer who set himself on fire

Based on Francine Du Plessix Gray's biography of one of the most famous perverts
of all time. In development.
Barbarella -- Warner Bros.
This remake will have a "more serious tone" than the original, in line with the Jean-Claude Forest
comic strip. Starring Drew Barrymore in the title role. In development.
Beat -- (Dir. Gary Walkow)
Kiefer Sutherland plays William Burroughs; Courtney Love plays his wife, Joan, whom
he abandons for a tryst with another man in Guatemala.
